THE ART OF THE BURN
A guide to caring for your candle, beautifully.
To preserve the elegance and performance of your West Wick candle, we recommend the following rituals:
Refine the Wick
Before each burn, trim the wick to approximately ¼ inch. This simple act encourages a steady, smoke-free flame and extends the life of your candle.
Perfect the Surface
Ensure the wax surface is free of dust or debris before lighting. A pristine surface allows for a clean, uninterrupted burn.
Place with Purpose
Position your candle in a calm, draft-free space—away from direct air flow, flammable objects, and high-traffic areas. This promotes an even burn and allows the fragrance to unfold gracefully.
Allow a Full Melt
With each burn, let the wax pool fully to the edges of the vessel. This ensures an even burn throughout the life of the candle and prevents tunneling.
Extinguish with Elegance
To maintain wick integrity and reduce smoke, gently dip the flame into the melted wax using a wick dipper or tool, then straighten it before the wax sets.
